Where we come from...
While at UNCA Rob earned a B.A. in Biology (1996) and Lindsay earned a B.S. in Environmental Science (1999). Rob’s college experience concentrated on vertebrate ecology (specifically salamanders role as indicators of environmental problems) and Lindsay focused on ecology and botany. They married in 2003, and had their first child in 2006, with another on the way. Rob taught High School science for seven years. He made the shift from education to green building by way of historic renovation, which he has been doing since 2000. Rob grew up in his shingle style, family home built by his great, great grandfather. Lindsay taught middle school and high school science for three years. She followed public school teaching with two years as a science education outreach coordinator for the North Carolina Science House. Lindsay then worked with Rob in their green building company and also as a green real estate broker. With backgrounds in education along with experience in green building and green real estate, green building consultation was a natural fit for the husband and wife team. Rob and Lindsay’s commitment to preservation of the natural world has fueled their commitment to green building education + consultation. The built environment consumes most of the world’s resources and utilities so this is an arena where they can have a large impact.
