This curriculum is designed to convey concepts surrounding energy efficiency retrofits and weatherization, energy auditing, green building and green jobs while preparing students for the most recognized national credentials within the green building and energy efficiency industry from BPI and RESNET. The concepts are divided into units that are further divided into bite sized learning modules with the intent of engaging students through inquiry based pedagogy: engage, tell, show, do. Concepts are presented in short, distilled presentations, videos and demonstrations followed by personal discovery activities that students perform individually or in small groups with active learning making up 69% of instructional time. This approach builds student knowledge base incrementally, each stage reinforcing the previous. Each module begins with a discussion that triggers a student’s quest for information. While traditional lecture settings focus on the ‘tell’ approach to learning, this curriculum captures students with props, mock ups and activities before they have a chance to be turned off.

My Green Curriculum is designed to indoctrinate students in the best practices of green building and weatherization, while empowering them to give input, develop ideas and shape programs allowing transformation of members into environmental stewards and furthers market transformation by training and employing a generation of green collar workforce. My Green Curriculum is designed to instill new ideals of patriotism, incorporating resource conservation, economic livelihood and health of Americans.
